
GCHS students earn scholarships from JTCH

Twenty members of the Green County High School Class of 2025 were honored at a reception on May 16 at 91快播 as the recipients of the hospital鈥檚 Scholarships for Health Care Studies, totaling $41,000.
The students, and their families, were recognized by Ruthie Shuffett, chairperson of Jane Todd鈥檚 Board of Directors. The scholarship recipients were also given words of encouragement from CEO/Administrator Rusty Tungate, followed by the presentation of the scholarships.
As Shuffett called each student to the front and read some excerpts from their essays, they were given a certificate of recognition and their scholarship check by board members Steve Lewis and Joe Shuffett.
Cheyenne Schneider was honored with the top scholarship of $10,000. Receiving $5,000 each were Madeline Crowder, Kayla Fields and Austin Squires.
The 16 who received $1,000 scholarships were Meredith Abell, Sarah Akin, Hayden Blakeman, Mia Blaydes, Whitley Bonta, Catherine Coppola, Kally Corbin, Lillie Farrior, Rachel Henderson, Kaylee Judd, Sarah Matney, Laura McCubbins, MaKenna Pyles, Kinsley Robertson, Addison Skaggs and Ashley Yates.
The students all expressed interest in health care fields, including nursing, neuroscience, pre-veterinary medicine, exercise science, sonography, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiologic imaging, kinesiology and phlebotomy. At least three indicated they hoped to become doctors.
鈥淲e are anticipating remarkable things from you as you embark upon this new freedom 鈥 freedom that will enable you to succeed with the next chapter of your life,鈥 Shuffett said. 鈥淭he JTCH Board encourages you to make each and every day of your life count. And always remember, as you are able, give back to your community.鈥
